Contact Lenses

At 3D Vision Eye Care, Drs Drake pride themselves on their belief that there is a contact lens out there

for just about everyone willing to try them, even though for some it might take a little more effort than

others. Drs. Drake prescribe the most popular brands of contacts and work hand in hand with your

individual needs and concerns to improve your vision, comfort and wear time.

Have you been told you were not a candidate for contacts? We at 3D Vision are dedicated to making

you happy when it comes to contacts…if you are willing to try them we are willing to go above and

beyond until you are completely satisfied. We have annual supplies of contact lens available at very

affordable rates (which are less than Walmart and 1800 Contacts)

We carry Air Optix, Focus Night and Day, Acuvue, Proclear, Freshlook, and many more.

FAQ’s about contact lenses:

Q:  What if I only want to wear contacts occasionally?

If you only want to wear contact lenses intermittently to play sports, go out on the town, ski/snowboard, or just to do something different than contact lenses are a great option for you.  3D Vision is a big proponent of daily contact lenses.  These are lenses that you wear for one day and then throw out.  Drs. Drake also highly recommend daily contact lenses as an excellent choice for those patients that suffer from dry eyes and allergies.

Q: If I don’t wear my contacts every day can I use them longer than the recommended replacement schedule?

Every contact has a specific replacement schedule whether it is once a month, every two weeks, or every day.  Contacts need to be replaced NO MATTER how often you use them during that period.  Think of contact lenses as a container of milk.  It does not matter that you did not get to “use/drink” the whole amount, what matters is that it can make you sick if you do not throw it away and continue to use it past the expiration date.  The only difference is that with contacts you run the risk of infection or other complications.

Q:  Can I wear contacts if I wear bifocal/progressive glasses?

YES!  There are three different options.  One option is multifocal contact lenses.  This is the option that is most often used at 3D Vision.  These contacts work similar to progressive eyeglasses in that both eyes see far away, intermediate, and up close together.  This is usually an excellent option for most patients.  The second option is monovision contact lenses.  With monovision, Drs. Drake will first determine whether you are right or left eye dominant.  Then your dominant eye will be corrected for distant vision and your non-dominant eye will be corrected for near vision.  Sometimes this option allows the patient to only wear one contact lens depending on their prescription.  The last option is to wear contact lenses that correct your distance vision and use reading glasses for near vision.  At 3D Vision, we listen to what your individual needs are from the contact lenses and will work will you to find the best solution for your needs.

Q: How old do you have to be to wear contact lenses?

Technically there is no minimum age of when contact lenses can be worn.  Typically, children are mature enough to handle wearing contacts at the age of 10.  However, every child is different.  As the parent, you know whether your child is responsible enough to take care of contact lenses correctly.  Do they remember to wash their hands before dinner?  Do they remember to brush their teeth before bed?  Drs. Drake strongly recommend daily contact lenses for children as they do not have to worry about cleaning them every night and can just throw them away and get a new fresh pair in the morning.

If you think that you might want to wear contact lenses, contact us today and we will help you find what is right for you.
